School Awards

Academic achievement is an important goal of the school; therefore, outstanding work is recognized in all areas.  Primary grades receive monthly Super Citizen and Academic Awards and upper grades receive quarterly Super Citizen and Merit Roll or Principal’s Award.

Perfect Attendance awards are presented at the year-end award ceremonies.  To receive a perfect attendance award, students must be at school every day.  If students are tardy, sent home for illness or checked out early, they are not eligible for a perfect attendance award.

Over the past 5 years Eastwood School has been recognized at the state level for programs, policies and procedures that go above and beyond the standard academic program for elementary schools in California.  Eastwood has been awarded the California Distinguished School Award, The Gold Ribbon Award for the state, The PBIS Bronze Medal for positive behavior implementation, and the Center for Business Excellence Award.  Eastwood also recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of it's naming.
