Principal's Message

We are excited to share some important updates for the new school year. To meet new state requirements, we've added 10 minutes of recess to our Wednesday schedule. Please note that Wednesday dismissal times will now be 12:40 PM for lower grades and 12:55 PM for upper grades. This year, our teachers are continuing to work as a professional learning community to ensure a guaranteed and viable educational experience for every student at Eastwood, with Ms. Dunneback, Mrs. Schinhofen, Miss Delany, and Mrs. Ross leading this effort as part of our CAPS team. Additionally, we're enhancing our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program to set clear expectations for student behavior, which we will teach and reinforce throughout the year. Finally, all students in grades three and up will take home their Chromebooks each night, so please ensure their devices are charged and ready for school each day.

A note about animals: Per Orange County ordinance 4-1-46, animals (aside from service dogs) are not permitted on public school property. This includes the area directly in front of the office. We appreciate your cooperation.

The front parking lot is NEVER drop off or pick-up area. Please use University or Vallecito to park your cars. Older students should use the drive-through drop-off area next to Bolsa Chica Park. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the safety of our community.

Measure T Update: 

We are excited to announce the near completion of phases 1 and 2 of the HVAC project that began last school year. Phase 3 of the C/D building will begin shortly, and we expect to complete it well before Spring Break this school year. We thank our community for your support of the bond measure that was passed to fund this project. Our classrooms and workspaces are officially air-conditioned!
